1. What is a Mathematics Olympiad?

A prestigious mathematics competition designed to challenge students to think critically, solve creatively, and apply concepts beyond textbooks. It sharpens problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking, preparing students for advanced mathematical challenges.

2. Olympiad Progression by Grade

At R&D Math Academy, our Olympiad coaching is designed for students from Class 1 to Class 12, with levels and focus tailored to each grade.

2.1 Class 1–5: Junior Level

  • Eligibility: Students in Classes 1–5

  • Classes: 2 per week

  • Focus: Logic puzzles, basic arithmetic, shapes, measurement

  • Goal: Build curiosity & foundational problem-solving skills

2.2 Class 6–8: School Stage

  • Eligibility: Students in Classes 6–8

  • Classes: 3 per week

  • Focus: Advanced problem-solving, algebra, geometry, logical reasoning

  • Goal: Prepare for regional & national Olympiads

2.3 Class 9–10: National Stage

  • Eligibility: Students in Classes 9–10

  • Classes: 3–4 per week

  • Focus: Multi-step problem solving, algebra, geometry, number theory, combinatorics

  • Goal: Qualify for INMO & strengthen analytical reasoning

2.4 Class 11–12: International Stage

  • Eligibility: Students in Classes 11–12

  • Classes: 3–4 per week

  • Focus: Proof-based problem-solving, advanced algebra, combinatorics, geometry, number theory

  • Goal: Compete at national & international Olympiads (IMO)​​

3. Olympiad Exam Stages

   Stage 1: SOF IMO (School-level)

  • Early exposure & practice​

   Stage 2: PRMO (Pre-Regional)

  • First national-track stage

   Stage 3: RMO (Regional)

  • Regional-level competition

   Stage 4: INMO (National)

  • National-level competition

   Stage 5: IMO (International)

  • Compete internationally
